2. Using this website
By using this website you agree to these terms. Please use it lawfully and do not attempt to interfere with its security or operation, introduce malicious code, or send us false or misleading enquiries.
3. Information on this site
We try to keep the information accurate and up to date, but it is general information only, not professional advice, and does not create a contract. Descriptions of services are illustrative. Any quote or estimate is not binding until confirmed in writing (see Part B). Electrical work can be dangerous: do not attempt to carry out electrical work yourself unless you are competent, and remember that some work must legally be notified to Building Control or carried out by a registered competent person.
4. Intellectual property
The content of this site, including text, logos, photographs and design, is owned by or licensed to us and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may view and print pages for personal, non-commercial use, but must not copy or reuse the content commercially without our written permission.
5. Reviews and third-party content
Customer reviews shown on this site are genuine comments from our customers, shown as they were written. Links to third-party sites (including social media) are provided for convenience; we do not control and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
6. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot be limited under the law, including your statutory consumer rights. Subject to that, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, this website, or for viruses or technical faults, and we do not guarantee the site will be uninterrupted or error-free.
7. Privacy and cookies
How we use your data is explained in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
8. Changes, governing law and disputes
We may update these terms at any time; the version on this page applies when you use the site. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, although if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
Part B: Summary of customer terms for our services
This is a summary. Before work begins we will give you a written quote, and full terms will apply to your job.
1. Quotes and estimates
Quotes are provided in writing and are valid for 30 days unless stated. Prices are shown in pounds sterling and state whether VAT is included. Where work turns out to need changes (for example, hidden defects found during work), we will explain and agree any extra cost with you before proceeding.
2. Payment
Payment terms will be set out in your quote or invoice. For larger jobs we may ask for a deposit or stage payments, which will be set out in the quote. Unless agreed otherwise, invoices are payable within 14 days.
3. Your right to cancel
If you are a consumer and we agree a contract at your home, by phone, email or online, you normally have the right to cancel within 14 days of the day the contract is made, without giving a reason (Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013). To cancel, tell us clearly in writing (for example by email to contact@oncoreelectrical.co.uk) before the period ends. You may use this wording: "I/We hereby give notice that I/We cancel my/our contract for the supply of the following service: [service], ordered on [date], name, address, date."
If you ask us to start work within the 14-day period, you must tell us so, and if you then cancel you must pay for the work done up to the point you told us you were cancelling (proportionate to the full price). If the work is fully completed within the 14 days at your express request, you lose the right to cancel once it is done. This does not affect your other legal rights. If you contact us about an emergency repair and ask us to attend immediately, the cancellation rules above still apply as described.
4. Standards, certification and guarantees
Work is carried out with reasonable care and skill and to the current edition of BS 7671 (the IET Wiring Regulations) and relevant Building Regulations. Where required we will provide the appropriate certificate (for example an Electrical Installation Certificate or Minor Works Certificate) and notify Building Control or a competent person scheme. Any workmanship guarantee will be stated in your quote.
5. Your legal rights
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, services must be performed with reasonable care and skill. If they are not, you may be entitled to have the service repeated or repaired, or a price reduction. Nothing in these terms affects those rights.
6. Complaints
If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, please email contact@oncoreelectrical.co.uk or call 020 3432 4733. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and aim to resolve it within 14 days.
